Rema has seemingly gotten an endorsement from multiple Grammy award-winning rapper Drake. The Canadian singer and rapper Drake recently told fans and followers during a live chat session he had on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, that he recorded a song with Nigerian hottest kid Rema.
In Drake’s word “Big up Rema too. We have a sick song together…”
During the live chat, Drake was spotted in a dimly-lit space where he was chilling with his friend and Rema’s hit song Dumebiplaying in the background. music playing in the background as he chatted with his fans.
It is no longer news that Rema is dominating the world of music and gaining massive recognition is Africa and the world at large, thanks to the Mavin record for strategically positioning and promoting him to be the leader of a new music generation.
This significant move remains a vital moment in the career of Rema because this collaboration with Drake when released solidifies his into the international scene.
One of such artistes that enjoyed this feat was Wizkid when Drake jumped on his Ojuelegba remix and went on to collaborate with Wizkid on “One Dance” through which Wizkid achieved international recognition because the song became a global hit. ‘One Dance’, reached number one in 15 countries, including the U.S, UK, Canada and Australia.
The song also made him the first Afrobeats artist to appear in the 2018 Guinness World Records. After this, Wizkid’s career fast-tracked and he gained more international work and influence that only a few artists globally have been able to attain.
With Rema enjoying such fate at an early stage of his career if he capitalizes on this rare opportunity with Drake. He might go on to be a bigger star than Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy who are at the peak of their careers. This collaboration with Drake will expose this kid to a new phase of stardom which will set him apart in this early part of his career.
